Founding.dev Design Hackathon

1. Who runs it, and when

Founding.dev runs this hackathon. It is online.

• Build starts: Fri, Oct 30, 12:00 AM PTFri, Oct 30, 7:00 AM UKFri, Oct 30, 12:30 PM IST
• Submissions close: Mon, Nov 2, 11:59 PM PTTue, Nov 3, 7:59 AM UKTue, Nov 3, 1:29 PM IST
• Winners announced: Tuesday, November 3

2. Who can enter

• You must be 18 or older.
• Enter solo or as a team of 2. Each person can be on one entry only.
• Founding.dev team members can take part, but can't win prizes.
• You can't enter where contests like this are against the law.

3. How to enter

1. Register on the hackathon page.
2. Build a landing page on Founding.dev between the start and close times. Any topic.
3. Publish it.
4. Post it on LinkedIn and tag Founding.dev.
5. Send us your LinkedIn post link and your page link on the submission page before submissions close. You can update your links until then.

4. What every entry needs

An entry is judged only if it passes all three checks:

• Built on Founding.dev during the hackathon. We check the build dates.
• At least 12 reposts on your LinkedIn post when submissions close. You need 12 to be judged. With fewer, the entry isn't judged, however good it looks.
• A real, working design. Not a blank template, and not a copy of someone else's page.

5. How winners are picked

Design score (0 – 100). The Founding.dev team scores each design on three things, weighted equally:

• Looks: how polished and well made it is.
• Clarity: how easy it is to read and use.
• Creativity: how original the idea is.

Repost boost. Your design score is multiplied by a boost based on your LinkedIn reposts:

Total score = design score × repost boost. A great design with a lot of reach does best.

Ties. If two entries have the same total score, the higher design score wins.

The judges' decisions are final.

6. Prizes

• 1st place: $500 plus 1 month of Unleash ($59). Highest total score.
• Runner-up: $300 plus 1 month of Unleash ($59). Second-highest total score.
• Judges' Choice: $200 plus 1 month of Unleash ($59). Best design, by judges' vote alone.

One prize per entry. Team prizes are split between the two teammates.

We contact winners by email to arrange payment. Winners handle any taxes on their prize.

7. Your design

You own what you build. Entering doesn't change that.

Template library. By entering, you agree that Founding.dev can add your design, or a template built from it, to the Founding Dev template library, where other Founding.dev users can start from it.

By entering, you let Founding.dev show your design and LinkedIn post, with your name, to promote the hackathon and Founding.dev.

8. Fair play

• Reposts must come from real, active people. Engagement pods, bots, or bought reposts mean you're out.
• We may check where reposts come from, and re-rank or remove entries that look fake.
• We count reposts on the LinkedIn post you submit, when submissions close.
• Your design must be your own work.

9. Everything else

We use your registration details to run the hackathon, as set out in our privacy policy.

We may change these rules or the dates if we need to. If we do, we'll update this page and tell registrants.
